Luke Grivell - Mellor Rapha Condor Sharp
Dave Mellor Cycles have been very pleased to support the Mid Shropshire Wheelers Junior Team and when a rider pops out the top and signs a Pro contract then we're very proud....not least when that rider just happens to be our son.
Luke has just come back from a training camp in Lanzarote and has been amazed at the amount of media attention that being a Pro rider brings. A big step up from the Shrewsbury Chronicle articles submitted by the Mid Shropshire Wheelers press secretary.
After Lanzarote, Luke has been in the news on the VeloUK website and also the the CafeVelo site where he's been signed up to write a monthly account of what it's like to be a young Pro.

International Cyclo Cross Comes To Shrewsbury Sports Village
Sunday January 15th sees the cream of Great Britain's Cyclo Cross talent take on challengers from Europe in the British Cycling National Cyclo Cross Trophy Final.
This prestigious event is organised by Dave Mellor Cycles and the Mid Shropshire Wheelers at the Shrewsbury Sports Village from 10am. The racing will see all age groups taking part throughout the day with the Elite one hour long race taking place at 2.30pm.
Local interest will focus on the Mid Shropshire Wheelers Junior Team with Ewan Grivell-Mellor (pictured on his Specialized Crux Cyclo Cross Bike) vying for a place on the podium along with Jimmy Kershaw, Martin Whyatt and Alex Taylor.
Cyclo Cross is a winter sport with regional leagues taking place all over the country each with upwards of 400 riders taking part. Races are run on circuits of varying terrain where often the riders have to get off and run. Mud and water play a big part and there is always entertainment to be had in the pits as the mechanics frantically jet wash bikes ready for riders to pick up a fresh bike, sometimes every lap.
Entrance to the Shrewsbury Sports Village is free....do come and watch.
Thanks to: The Mayor of Shrewsbury, Giant Bikes, Specialized Bicycles, Pearlizumi, Madison, Shimano, Greenhous Saab, Shropshire Pressure Washers, Francis Transport, Fenwicks Bike Cleaning Products, Endura Clothing, British Cycling, Tony Willday Sales Agencies, Richmond Upholstery and the Shrewsbury Sports Village.
